N388LS (cn 293A-1249) Christmas and Easter come at the same time? This was truly an unexpected surprise as my hometown Ardmore is a very rural city in southern Oklahoma. Thanks to the FlightAware.com, I had enough time to prepare and shoot her sunset arrival before she even took off the ground at Las Vegas. Seriously, as I have seen a brand new TriStar for ANA back in 70's, I have never seen such a sleek one. Currently, she is undergoing an interior modification at King Aerospace. I am training over this airport with my camera |

N96278 / 05 (cn 426-5340) Immaculate Neptune has just been back to our small town from another firefighting mission. Because of the wildfires brazing across northern Texas and Oklahoma, Ardmore has currently one of the home bases for firefighter airplanes - P-3A Orion and P2V-5F Neptune. Low evening sun makes the fuselage even brighter, and the crew looks released a bit as it seems to be the last mission of their long day. We residents are truly appreciated your braveness to fight against the deadly fire to protect our life. |

N925AU / 25 (cn 185-5074) Tanker 25 from the Aero Union Corporation has just returned back to our small town to refill the 3,000 gallon retardant for another aerial delivery. Flight deck crews are really concentrating on the instruction which the marshaller gives. The Captain is carefully maneuvering his Orion in order not to collide the parking Orion and Neptune. In a reality, as long as the aerial firefighters are working hard, the fires are still threatening us around. It sure DOES at this moment; but, let's hope for the best. |

84-0048 (cn 45) This could be the most unique Dash 8 that I have ever seen. I almost thought that this must be another aerial firefighter variant as I was shooting Orion and Neptune of those kinds at my home town. From what I learn, this E-9A is used in the weapons evaluation program as a surveillance platform toward low-altitude, over-the-horizon radar monitoring of air-to-air missile firings and for range clearance, including detecting vessels which intrude into the Gulf Test Range during live missile launches. |

N304TW (cn 20117/126) Del 3/71 to SWR as HB-IGB, in '84 to MSR as SU-GAK, in '85 to TWA as N304TW, in '93 to ABD as TF-ABL, sublsd to Saudia before wfu '94). Strange: the reg is the old TWA one, not the one this aircraft had with Saudia. I found this B742 sitting at ADM and almost completely scrapped, all the engines, flaps, ailerons, rudder, elevators, etc. are gone. By the way, check all the crows on the wing tip and stabilator. |
