VH-AHT (cn ME-132) This attractive, Canberra-based Duchess dropped in to Bendigo for fuel. They were actually waiting for me to move the Whale back from the bowser here - sorry chaps! This aircraft seems to have started life as N2070K before going to the Phillipines as RP-C308. It was re-registered in Australia on 3 November 2006. |

VH-NSP (cn 33091) This chopper was in Bendigo, probably to give the usual resident VH-VAA/HEMS3 a break for maintenance. It has quite an interesting history, having been built in 1982 and initially been registered N2276P, probably for flight-testing. It was the one and only Bell 412 supplied to the Panamanian armed forces, serialled FAP-1101, later HP-962. On return to the USA it was allocated N22976 but may not have actually ever been registered. In any case it was exported to Australia and registered VH-NSP(2) on 24 January 1985. |

VH-JVH / 305 (cn 1361) 'Firebird 305' back for yet another year of bushfire work based at Bendigo. It had been pretty quiet when I took this photo, but on Saturday 7 February the worst bushfires in Victoria's history broke out in, south and south-east of Bendigo. More than 180 people perished in 24 hours of fire-storms. Undoubtedly Firebird 305 was in the thick of the action. This 1973 JetRanger was originally N59507 then A6-ALF before being registered VH-JVH(2) on 10 December 1999. |
