The Sunshine Coast’s EMS and SAR helo service has a A$200K funding shortfall, after this helo required three replacement main rotor blades which cost A$165K. (The BK-117 has four main rotor blades!) Additional funding has been sought from the Queensland Government. |

VH-MIK / BU-B (cn 28759) Once again Mike Spaulding brought his lovely Warhawk/Kittyhawk to the Wide Bay International Airshow. Built for the USAAF as 42-104977, this aircraft served with the 49FG, named 'Punkins'. On 13 September 1943 it was shot down by a Zero at Tsili Tsili, near Finschafen, New Guinea. The wreck was recovered in 2004 and rebuilt at Wangaratta and Mareeba. |

Came to Australia in 1994 as a restoration project. Registration VH-ZRO(1) reserved but ntu. Registered appropriately VH-NAG on 6 February 2002. VH-KMF / WK550/J (cn C1/0565) Taxying back to parking at the Wide Bay International Airshow. This aircraft was built for the RAF in 1952 and was delivered on 20 February that year. In the later part of its military career it served with Yorkshire UAS and the Flying Selection Squadron, whose badge it wears on the nose. It was sold on 27 February 1997 ex 5 MU Kemble and registered VH-KMF(2) on 14 October that year. |

VH-JUC / KH677/CV-P (cn 1430) Judy Pay's CAC built Mustang VH-JUC, getting airborne off Rwy 14 at the Wide Bay International Airshow. VH-JUC, actually ex-RAAF A68-105, is painted as No 3 Squadron WWII Mustang KH677 Code CV-P. The aircraft was flown by Guy Bourke in company with FEW P-51 Scale Replica Mustang VH-WIK. Both Mustangs were flown from their Tyabb home base in Victoria for the three day Wide Bay Airshow. |

The aircraft was displayed by Jim Wickham in company with Judy Pay's CA-18 Mustang VH-JUC. Both Mustangs were flown from their Tyabb home base in Victoria for the three day Wide Bay Airshow. VH-WIK, Named 'Merlin', carries magnificent airbrush artwork on both sides of the fuselage, depicting 'Merlin the Magician'. |

VH-XWR (cn 11306) Alliance put the big Fokker through its paces again with an impressive display as 'Unity 991' at the Wide Bay International Airshow. This aircraft has had a long history, initially as PH-EZF, then to USAir as N864US, then temporarily to PH-CXG, then to Germaina and Air Berlin as D-AGPG. Acquired by Alliance in 2010 and registered VH-XWR on 14 September that year. |
