Chino (CNO)
USA - California, July 25, 2013
Remark
Photographer
133818 This is one of two XHUM-1 delivered to the Navy in June 1953 for evaluation as the tandem-rotor was an extremely new concept. This important piece of aviation history was restored to this immaculate display standard by the Yanks Air Museum between 2007-11. .

Douglas A-4A Skyhawk
Chino (CNO)
USA - California, July 24, 2013
Remark
Photographer
139969 (cn 11334) This A-4 servedwith the Navy until retirement to AMARC during Oct. 65. She was in the desert for only a year and has now ended up, in this rather perilous state, in the storage yard of the Yanks Air Museum. Presumably she has been 'reclaimed' over the years for parts so that other A-4s may live.

Untitled
Kellett YG-1B
Chino (CNO)
USA - California, July 26, 2013
Remark
Photographer
37-381 (cn 108) (As I understand it) this is the only survivor of seven YG-1Bs sold to the US Army to establish in 1938 a rotary aircraft school at Dayton, OH. She was then re-engined with a 300 hp Jacob R-915-3 radial engine to become the only XR-3 built. Fortunately this interesting piece of aviationhistory has survived and is now on display at the super Yanks Air Museum.

North American FJ-1 Fury
Chino (CNO)
USA - California, July 26, 2013
Remark
Photographer
120349 / S-102 (cn 141-38401) Now beautifully restored and looking absolutely immaculate on display at the super Yanks Air Museum. This particular Fury was TOC during Nov. 1947 and served until Oct 1953 during which time she broke the record for the fastest flight between Seattle and Los Angeles (1205 miles, 1 h 58 m 7 s) in Feb. 1948. Incidentally as a bit of triva, the FJ-1 was the last Navy aircraft to use machine guns.
