Aer Lingus
Fokker F-27-100 Friendship
Cork (ORK / EICK)
Ireland, April 1962
Remark
Photographer
EI-AKD (cn 10109) The first Aer Lingus plane to land at Cork was a Friendship on a proving fight from Dublin on 12th October 1961. From the official opening four days later Friendships operated some of the scheduled services to Dublin and London. They still had this classic colour scheme. Six months later the bare red earth of the new airport had still to be grassed.
