G-CDZH (cn 28227/452) Arriving at gate 3 in heavy snow as TOM3837 from Manchester. This is about as light as it gets north of the Artic Circle in winter! I was to depart on this aircraft on the reciprical flight to Manchester (TOM3838) but a series of delays meant our flight was changed to sister aircraft G-FDZO, originally bound for Gatwick. I spent a week in this winter wonderland visiting Santa and playing in the snow! (Canon 350D + 24-85 USM) |

G-FDZJ (cn 34690/2184) Touchdown on runway 34 aboard flight TOM3837 from Manchester. Taken from seat 21F to visit Santa and have some fun in the snow for a week! This is about as light as it ever gets due to being north of the arctic circle, the sun never rises over the horizon in winter. G-FDZO (cn 34691/2246) Cabin view as we sit on the apron waiting to be de-iced on flight TOM3838 to Manchester after a wonderful week visiting Santa and playing in the 40cm deep snow. It was -4 outside. Due to aircraft congestion and several delays, we departed 4 hours late. The cabin crew started the IFE while we waited for de-icing, which took over 1 hour while the operatives got round to us. Taken from row 30 (Canon 350D + Sigma 10-20 EX DC HSM) |

A snow covered Kittila Airport. It never really gets light in this part of the world in winter because it's well north of the Arctic Circle. The control tower is fittingly decorated like a christmas tree. I spent a week in Yllas visiting Santa and playing in the 40cm deep snow!
