XV499 (cn 3477/0114) This FGR.2 is seen here at RAF Leeming to whence it had been retired some years before for use as a weapons loading trainer. It wears the colours of 23 Sqn and (on the nose) 1435 Flight, Falkland Islands, to which it was detached between 1983 and 1988. (Many thanks to Tim Reid for access.)

Panavia Tornado F3
Leeming (EGXE)
UK - England, February 18, 2010
Remark
Photographer
ZE731 / GP (cn 658/AS047/3295) Three Tornado F3s are seen here in the 'Reduce to Produce’ hangar, in the process of spares recovery under a BAE Systems contract to support the GR.4 fleet. ZE731 and ZE936 wear the colours of 43 Sqn and Treble One Sqn respectively. Most of the F.3s passed through this hangar as the variant was progressively replaced by the Typhoon. (Many thanks to the MCO’s office, particularly Tim Reid, for access & permission for the pictures.)
