ZK-SJC (cn 28738/2988) It's a long way down... Overhead Lord Howe Island at FL360, situated in the Tasman Sea 550kms east of Port Macquarie NSW, or 700km east of Sydney. We were operating between Wellington WLG and Brisbane BNE. The LDH runway can be seen in the middle of the island, stretching between Blinky Beach and The Lagoon. |

The view out the side cockpit window of QantasLink DHC-8-202 VH-TQS (cn 418) on App to Rwy 28.the app is at 85 degrees to the runway rolling out over the sand dune at about 75-100'.Normally with shear and crosswind and no marging for error.Kai tak is easy compared to 28 at YLHI. |
