N12-152816 / 852 (cn 285C) Rare view of in-service RAN S-2G Tracker Code 852, at the moment of touchdown and arrestor cable engagement at Nowra in 1980. Note cable and donuts 'whipping' near the orange cable drum, and smoke from separate MLG touchdowns. This aircraft was acquired in 1977 in a batch of S-2G Trackers which replaced the 12 S-2Es lost in the Nowra hangar fre of 04Dec1976. Low res 29 year old photo. This aircraft was acquired in 1977 in a batch of S-2G Trackers which replaced the 12 S-2Es lost in the Nowra Hangar Fire of 04Dec1976. This aircraft has not been flying in recent years, but was taxied past the crowd at the Fleet Air Arm 60th Anniversary Airshow at Nowra in October 2008. VH-PCM / A94-983 (cn CA27-83) This RAAF 75 Sqn Avon Sabre (Del: Nov 1957) was transferred to the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) in Dec 1971. She has the RAAF 75 Sqn COs' name (Wg Cdr AM Parer) on the nose. Photo shows the 2AD ground crew waiting for their display time-slot at the RAN 75th Anniversary Open Day at Nowra. Early in 2006, the aircraft was allotted to the Temora Aviation Museum for restoration to Flight Status. (Her First Post-Restoration Flight [as VH-IPN] was at Temora on 16July2009, after being grounded for 16 years). |
