3724 "Ho Chi Minh City Museum" The Dragonfly, or Super Tweet as the pilots used to call it, flew in the Vietnam theater from 1967 on. The aircraft was used for close air support, helicopter escort, Forward Air Control, and night interdiction. The 'B' version of the Super Tweet was an improved version and proved highly effective during combat. 22 Dragonflys were lost between 1967-1972. [Nikon D700 / AF-S Nikkor 16-35mm] |

73-1638 (cn R1091) American hardware is everywhere in Saigon, this example being an F-5E Tiger II formerly flown by the South Vietnamese Air Force. Inscription on the board reads: A US F5E aircraft, the same model as one in which pilot Nguyen Thanh Trung bombed the Independence Palace on April 8, 1975. |
