JX0122 This handmade jet plane was built in the project "OpenSky" led by a media artist Mr.Kazuhiko Hachiya. Powered by AMT TITAN engine and registered with Japanese experimental code "JX". Seen here displayed to the public at 3331 Arts Chiyoda (art museum in Akihabara) before next test flight. Mitsubishi A6M2b Reisen (Zero)
Off-Airport - Tokyo
Japan, May 15, 2011
Remark
Photographer
53-12 / 53-122 (cn 31870) Displayed at The National Science Museum in Ueno. This Zero was converted to a two-seater reconnaissance plane at the Naval 253th Squadron in Rabaul, crashed in 1945 and salvaged from the sea in 1972. I just recognized how small Zero Fighter is... Yokosuka D4Y1 Suisei
Off-Airport - Tokyo
Japan, February 18, 2008
Remark
Photographer
4316 This is the only complete D4Y Suisei in the world. Preserved at the Yasukuni Shrine Museum in Tokyo along with the replica Ohka ('Cherry Blossom') manned kamikaze torpedo. It was discovered on Yap Island in 1972 and was restored in 1980 with help from Nihon Television. The Suisei was the fastest dive-bomber of all World War II aircraft and was actually faster than the A6M Zero.

Off-Airport - Tokyo
Japan, September 2, 2003
Remark
Photographer
81-161 (cn 4241) The Yasukuni museum, next to the controversial shrine, paints an eyebrow-raising picture of Japan's role in World War II. This Zero was built in Nagoya in late 1943. It served in Rabaul where it was abandoned in 1945

Untitled
Kelvin 40
Off-Airport - Tokyo
Japan, April 27, 2006
Remark
Photographer
A new stealth bomber? The long rumored Aurora? No, the Kelvin 40 "concept plane" (in the same vein as auto industry concept cars) by designer Marc Newson, who is currently developing the interiors for Qantas' A380s. The Kelvin is fitted with a real Snecma jet engine, and Newson says the aircraft has been proven to be aerodynamically viable. But will never fly, sadly. On display at a design exhibition in Tokyo.
