C-FVMV (cn 15-22) This was my first time seeing an old Vagabond up close. It was built way back in 1948 & I thought it looked quite nice in the sun with Tweety Bird on its nose. It lives here & its owner was a kind man who told me about his plane on this beautiful day in early Spring. |

C-GCCA (cn 18502422) Soon this Cessna will be towed off the airport & across a public road to a small lake where the ice is melting. From there it can fly again & return to its home in Sudbury, Ont. It was built in 1974 & looked great while parked among other floatplanes. |

C-GZLY (cn 001-2008) This cool looking floatplane was built in 2008 & is a homebuilt with a PT6 jet engine, new floats & a glass cockpit! It's the only one of its kind, but not for long. The pilot was flying home to Quebec from Oshkosh where it won the "Judges Choice" award & he landed here for the night because of thunder storms along his route. It was a pleasure to talk with the pilot, Mr Gagnon, who built this Grizzly & installed the engine with his partner & friends. I'm lucky I saw this amazing plane. |
