VH-BOB / A68-104 (cn 1429) Bob Eastgate’s Mustang, appropriately Registered VH-BOB, was the 'Drawcard’ at this 1976 Redcliffe Airshow. Photo taken before a spirited low-level handling display by Jack McDonald at the coastal Airport. (I would have loved to fly in VH-BOB that day, instead of a short hop in Baron 58 VH-EGE. [However, I went for a 0.6 hour flight in VH-BOB from Canberra on 18Nov1978. See MyAviation.net] This Australian built CA-18 Mustang is ex-RAAF A68-104 (Cn 1429), still Registered in 2011. |

VH-EGE 1976 photo of Beech 58 Baron VH-EGE, with Stbd doors open and Port engine running, on the apron at Redcliffe Queensland. Photo taken just before I went on a 0.1 hour Joyflight in the aircraft. (I would have preferred a flight in Mustang VH-BOB, which did a flying display at the Airfield that day. [However, I went for a 0.6 hour flight in VH-BOB from Canberra on 18Nov1978.]) Since 19Jun1989, Registration VH-EGE has belonged to BN2A-26 Islander (Cn 3015), based at Port Hedland, West Australia. |

VH-WAI (cn 311) Rare front Stbd view of 'Air Whitsunday' Lake LA-4-200 Buccaneer VH-WAI (Cn 311) at an Airshow at Redcliffe (YRED) QLD on 12Sep1976. The aircraft was on static display at the airport during tha Airshow. Registration VH-WAI is now on Fairchild SA-227DC Cn DC-874B, operated By Skippers Aviation in Perth WA. (Also, I flew into and out of Redcliffe Airport in Army N22B Nomad A18-310 on 24Aug1979.) |

VH-PFT (cn 18051144) Rare 1976 view of Queensland Police Cessna 180E Skywagon VH-PFT (Cn 18051144), complete with QLD Police 'minder', at Redcliffe QLD (YRED) on 12Sep1976. The aircraft, previously operated by the Australian Army as A98-144, was first Registered to the Police Department on 03Sep1975. VH-PFT crashed at Broome WA on 04Aug1994, and after being re-built she was Registered in New Zealand as ZK-TUA in 1998. |

VH-PAS (cn 2043) Rare rear view of Pitts S-2A Special VH-PAS Cn 2043 at Redcliffe (YRED) Queensland on 12Sep1976. The aircraft (sponsored by Pacific Film and Qantas) was co-owned by John Patterson and Jim Scott. Sadly, John Patterson (near propeller) died when the aircraft crashed late in 1976. (The aircraft was later re-built.) VH-PAS was the First Pitts Special imported into Australia - First Regd on 29Jun1973, and is still on the Register in Sep 2011. VH-PAS is now operated by AV8 Pty Ltd at Morwell VIC. |
