VH-UDC / G-AUDK (cn T18208709) Low res Front View of a Bristol Tourer replica on static display at the Bi-Centennial Airshow at RAAF Base Richmond in 1988. This replica represents Tourer G-AUDK which was used in the film 'A Thousand Skies'. This aircraft type is a civilian adaptation of the Bristol F.2B Fighter, which was used by the Royal Flying Corps (RFC) and Australian Flying Corps (AFC) in the Middle East/Palestine in WWI. Kingsford Smith and Charles Ulm flew G-AUDK 12,000 km around Australia in 1927. (Apologies for quality.) |

86-0025 (cn 500-0111) Arriving from Hickam as "Reach Five Echo One" to a rapturous welcome from the local residents and aviation enthusiasts, who lined every vantage point to greet this gracious giant; this "Super Fred" replaced the weekly “Buddha” flight to Richmond for an “operational evaluation” rotation. Same aircraft performed hot weather trials in Alice Springs, late last year, so perhaps not a first time visitor – but certainly, a very welcome visitor. Thanks to the "Hawkesbury Gazette” for the “heads up”. |
