VH-ZAX (cn 10-54) Barossa Air Show Rowland Flat 2013 - One of the more unusual birds at the air show was this German built Stemme S-10 powered glider. The aircraft has a deployable propeller enabling self-powered take off. Once you are at the desired altitude you switch off the engine and the prop is stowed & the nose cone is retracted. It has a 50:1 glide ratio. It also comes with optional folding wings for ease of taxiing and stowage. It has a top speed of 140kts and a range of around 700NM. This aircraft was manufactured in 1993, & first registered in Australia on the 16th of November of the same year. |

Barossa Air Show Rowland Flat 2013 - Taken from one of the Barossa Helicopter Robinson R44's (VH-YBI) with the doors removed this photo shows the number of aircraft and spectators at the airshow. Thanks to Steve Ahrens and the St Jakobi Lutheran school of Lyndoch and its staff for making the event possible. The Barossa Airshow is reputed to be the only airshow in the world operated by a school. |

VH-DHA / A17-518 (cn DHA941/T222) Barossa Air Show Rowland Flat 2013 - Daniel Pluess gets ready for engine start at the Air Show for a formation of a trio of Tigers. Here VH-CDM and VH-ABL lead the take off followed by VH-DHA. In the following week these three particular aircraft and another two (VH-AUZ and VH-ZIS) helped commemorate ANZAC Day by providing a fly-over along King William Street along the parade providing an aerial display of warbirds in the skies above Adelaide... Lest we Forget... |

VH-DND (cn 337-0006) Barossa Air Show Rowland Flat 2013 - Jeff Morgan and the two boys leave YRWF in his Cessna 337 Skymaster. During the day’s proceedings, Jeff provided a spectacular handling display for the spectators including several high speed low level passes. It is indeed one of my favourite aircraft. |

VH-ODH / 584 (cn 802-0114) Barossa Air Show Rowland Flat 2013 - Aerotech Australiasia and this AT-802 provided the spectators of the Air Show a water bombing demonstration where it dumped around 3,000 litres of water. This aircraft is vital during the fire season here in Australia. Its response time is 3 mins and has a reload time of merely 2 mins once on the ground. It can deliver 37,000 litres per hour of water/retardant. |

VH-XPS (cn PJ-002) Barossa Air Show Rowland Flat 2013 - Chris Sperou takes off once again in his Super Stinker, with its new livery, for an aerobatic demonstration for the spectators. He is always a crowd pleasure and a very down to earth individual (except when he's flying!). On this day the organisers of the event presented him with a special gift of a caricature and also a personalised magnum of premium Barossa red wine in appreciation of his on-going support of such events. |
