N2406H (cn 3031) Everyone walked away from this one. On a spring evening, this 1946 Ercoupe departed runway 1 at Hummel. On takeoff, there was a loss of power, resulting in a runway over run. After veering to the right, the aircraft struck, oddly enough, a 1946 Ford tractor. The Ercoupe won the battle, destroying the tractor, but came away with quite a bit of damage. The two major dents in the wing leading edges are a result of the fence posts that the aircraft came to rest against. |

N659HA (cn 40710) This Bell chopper is one of 13 used by a Gettysburg, PA company as aerial applicators. The pilot is seen here concentrating on hitting his mark, which happens to be a helipad attached to the top of a tanker truck. The truck is equipped with everything needed to support the chopper and its operation; a water tank for the agricultural solution and a tank full of Jet A. He made 5 mad dashes to the spray site (Virginia Dept. of Forestry pine tree plot) in just over an hour. Quite an interesting operation. |

N527ST (cn 8527) UPDATE: After many obvious hours of hard work, this beaten bird finally has an airworthy fuselage and an engine to pull her through the sky. Put a fresh coat of paint on the front end and she might win some awards. |

N877E (cn 4229) What a rocket. Powered by a 65 HP Volkswagen engine and a wooden prop, she can scoot along at about 170 mph. Constructed of fiberglass, it tips the scales at no more than a couple of hundred pounds. Nice job Mike! |
