OV-103 (cn OV-103) "Discovery" returns to Earth after the STS-119 mission to the ISS. Discovery’s main landing gear touched down at 15:13:17 EDT, followed by the nose gear at 15:13:40 EDT. The shuttle’s wheels stopped at 15:14:45 EDT, bringing the mission’s elapsed time to 12 days, 19 hours, 29 minutes, 33 seconds. Discovery traveled 5,304,140 miles during its journey. This sight and sound of the two sonic booms that herald the immenient arrival of the orbiter will soon be history. She may have as little as 2 more flights! |

OV-105 (cn OV-105) "Endeavour" on the last few hundred meters of her coast to coast piggygback ride. As you can see clearly, the fuselage surfaces of the orbiter and the 747 show a very different appearence. The effects of space flight can be vividly seen on the orbiter while the 747 shows such a polished, clean mirror look. |

N911NA (cn 20781/221) How would you like to be the tow tug driver for this $2.4 billion + rig? The SCA + OV-105 "Endeavour" awaits to be towed into the special Mate/Demate Device that will be used to lift the orbiter off the back of the SCA. Once the orbiter is lifted up, the SCA will be towed back out and then the orbiter will be lowered to the ground. |

164763 (cn 382-5258) Fat Albert Airlines probably has one of the coolest takeoffs for an airline! They always leave the airfield with a a very sharp pitch up at rotation that is followed by nose down at the top of the arc (pulling +ve and -ve Gs). It is certainly a great way to start a flight. Here she is climbing out after the pitch up at rotation. |
