ZK-COR / 92844/8 (cn 3205) Keith Skilling does a dummy strafing pass in 'gull wing’ Corsair ZK-COR at Warbirds Over Wanaka 2010. (No, this is Not an Air to Air Photo.) I saw the television show 'Black Sheep Squadron' (Baa Baa Black Sheep) in Australia recently, relating to US Marine Corps Major 'Pappy’ Boyington, Commanding VMF-214 in WWII. I was surprised to see the featured Pacific Theatre Corsairs in Color! |

ZK-LIX / 28 (cn 828) Stbd front view of Lavochkin La-9 ZK-LIX taxying back beside Rwy 11, after a practice flying display at Warbirds Over Wanaka 2010. The pilot was weaving the aircraft on the sloping ground, as it is impossible to see straight ahead past the large radial engine. Conditions were dusty on Friday 02Apr10, making the hills at rear hard to see in this view. The La-9, which is the only airworthy example in the world, was flown in company with Yakovlev Yak-3 ZK-YYY. |
