VH-NVX / 844/N12-152333 (cn 220C) Close cropped topside view of S-2G Tracker VH-NVX, then operated by the RAN Naval Aviation Museum Nowra, doing a low Flypast at the Easter Airshow at Wangaratta in 1986. This aircraft was acquired in 1977 in a batch of S-2G Trackers which replaced the 12 S-2Es lost in the Nowra Hangar Fire of 04Dec1976. At take-off power the S-2 propellers make lots of noise as the prop-tips go Super-Sonic! This aircraft is being restored to flying status in 2009 at the FAA Museum Nowra. Low res photo. Apologies for the low quality of this 23 year old photo. |

VH-BDQ (cn 2147) 'Dorothy May' at the Antique Aeroplane Association of Australia's Auster Rally. Imported in 1953, this aircraft was somewhat unusual for an Aussie Auster in not being new - it was the former G-AIBL. It served for a time in the 1960s with the Illawarra Flying School in NSW. Based at Tyabb during the '90s, it is now resident in SA. |
