LZ-CAZ (cn 24023) This image from the "good old days" shows a Bulgarian registered helicopter shortly after start-up and before backtracking on the short 10/28-runway of Gozo Heliport for the flight back to Malta International Airport. The Russian built choppers were on lease from Heli Air Services. Sadly, those Mil Mi-8 operations were suspended in the autumn of 2004. Flatbed scanned print. |

An aerial view of rwy 10-28 from 1,500 ft, during my 3rd flight of the day with the Cessna 172M Skyhawk 9H-ACL. Gozo is a very small island to have a big airfield, however an extension of the landing strip at the heliport could easily facilitate the landing of small planes there, with no effect on the environment. |
