S2-ACY (cn 2027) Seen after roll-out at the factory and being readied for delivery along with S2-ACX. The pair returned from Bangladesh in 1.04, arriving at Blackpool for Emerald. This one took up G-JEME and was ferried to Bucharest for LFD freighter conversion 8.04 but didn't return till 10.07 by which time Emerald had gone into liquidation. Stored at BLK along with the rest of the fleet; repositioned to Kemble 9.08. Many thanks to Harry Holmes, Head of BAe PR and Avro historian, who arranged this Woodford visit for me |

G-CCJP (cn E2066) The repository of Avroliners at Kemble is rather depleted now – only this example was visible today, alongside two ATPs, seen here outside the Chevron Technical Services premises at G Site as the sun sets. This 1986 146-200 is owned by BAE Systems (Operations) Ltd and has returned off lease from Turkish Airlines (with whom it was registered I-TERK) and Club Air. |

G-SOEI (cn 1689) 12 for the price of 1!! The remains of the Emerald Airways fleet sat motionless and in most cases, engineless on an empty apron. It's rare to see the apron as empty as this, with all the light aircraft have been moved in to hangars due to heavy storms. This gives a clear overview of the remains of the BAe ATP's and HS748's of former Emerald Airways, who had their air operators licence revoked in May 2006 and went into liquidaton. G-SOEI sits alongside (from left to right) G-OSOE, G-JEMC, G-AYIM, G-BVOU, G-JEMC, G-BGMO, G-ORAL, G-OPFW, G-BIUV, G-OTBA and G-BVOV (Canon 350D + Sigma 50-500 EX APO DG) |
