VH-UXG (cn 6077) 'Riama' arriving at the Wide Bay International Airshow. Built in 1934 and registered G-ACRF, VH-UXG was first imported into Australia in April 1936. Written off after crashing and burning at Archerfield in 1954, she has risen Phoenix-like from the ashes. |

G-ECAN (cn DHA2048) A re-enactment of the start of the MacRobertson Air Race from England to Australia in 1934 took place at Midenhall. Although a grass strip was prepared this became unusable due to cross winds and a taxiway where aircraft had been parked became a short temporary runway. Many hands were needed to remove the parked aircraft and the visitors were moved away so this temporary 'runway' could be used. |

EI-ABI Aer Lingus's first flight in 1936 from Dublin to Bristol used a DH84 Dragon. "Iolar" means "eagle" in the Irish language. Seen at the 2004 Ormand Flying Club fly-in. |
