G-EZJX (cn 32419/1321) Departing runway 36L at Barajas gives this nice overview of the historic Jarama motor racing circuit, home of the Spanish Grand Prix until it moved to Jerez and Barcelona in the early 1980's. This circuit saw wins by Jim Clark, Graham Hill, Jackie Stewart, Emerson Fittipaldi, Niki Lauda, James Hunt, Mario Andretti, Patrick Depailler and Gilles Villeneuve. Sadly this circuit is now destined to be demolished. The golf course is the Club Jarama R.A.C.E. (Real Automóvil Club de España) course. Thanks to Ismael for helping me identify the circuit! |
