B-16705 (cn 32645/597) As this EVA T7 300 makes its way down to 24R, I’ve given you a wide angle view of the area. To the left of the shot is a group of cars holding on Lincoln Blvd. for traffic making its way down Sepulveda Blvd. Soon they will get the green light and merge into Sepulveda, one of the major arteries leading into LAX. In addition, just behind the red lights on the left of the screen is the In N Out and small park area. Oh, and we can’t forget mother nature. She provided the lovely weather for the shot! |

D-ABDC (cn 2654) During our very extended approach into Longyearbyen we passed Pyramiden, a former russian settlement, which is now a ghost town. Things there are as they were left behind after it was abandoned in a hurry in January 1998. Nature is gaining back the territory, roads and buildings are about to dissappear in a couple of years. But the Pyramiden Heliport is still active, being used by russian helicopters for removal works. |

From 1973 to 1983 Greenham Common was the home to the International Air Tattoo. With nuclear cruise missiles based there it was also the scene of protest and a 19 year continuous peace camp. The base closed in 1992. The cruise missile bunkers can still be seen here. The hangar area is now an industrial estate and whilst the remnants of the runway are still visible the bulk of the airfield is now a thriving nature reserve. |
