G-CEJU / 42-19993 (cn 26E-397) This wonderful Airacobra was restored to similar visage of P-39Q-5B, serial nr. 42-19993, „Brooklyn Bum 2nd“ from years 1942-43. Wreck of this aircraft was abadoned in New Guinea at Tadji airdrome. In WW2 was Airacobra assigned to 82nd TRS / 71st TRG, flown by pilot Lt. Peter A. McDermott, crew chief was Sgt. James W. O'Mara and armorer Sgt. John M. Conway. Wreck was after 30 years salvaged from high grass at Tadji and after 60 years (since June 2004) flying again by The Fighter Collection at Duxford.
