I had just returned home after two months in the Territory of Papua and New Guinea (TPNG), just before Independence. I flew in C-130A A97-207 from Laverton to Lae on 30Jan1975, and from Port Moresby to Laverton in A97-216 on 27Mar1975. The Task was ARDU TS 1633 - Bell 206B-1 Tropical Performance Trials - conducted from Lae and Mount Hagen. The RAAF marked 50 years of C-130 ops in Dec 2008. Low res photo. |
