HB-JMG (cn 562) LX 180 from Zurich approaching Suvarnabhumi airport after merely 10 hours and 30 minutes in the air. After finally clearing immigration and getting out of the airport, I was just standing there for a moment, enjoying the warm tropical air and watching the thunderstorm that those dark clouds on approach had signalled pass by. |

HA-LHC (cn 28884/738) Soon I have a portfolio about her - a lady, who likes to change her clothes often. But she's right; tropical climate is much better than Siberia. I like her new dress. |

A97-216 / 216 (cn 182-3216) Rare close-up view of 36 Squadron C-130A A97-216 at Mount Hagen Airport (TPNG) in March 1975. The Herc was to carry a Bell 206B-1 helicopter (A17-021) to Port Moresby, and Laverton Victoria, after completion of Tropical Performance Trials. Locals refused to assist with the loading of the Bell 206B-1 into the C-130 rear cargo door! (Assisting the 'Birth of a Baby Balus' was OK. Putting the 'Balus' back was Not OK!). Low res photo. |

The Task was ARDU TS 1633 - Bell 206B-1 Tropical Performance Trials - conducted from Lae and Mount Hagen. The RAAF marked 50 years of C-130 ops in Dec 2008. Low res photo. |
