On my birthday, I had the thrill of seeing the single most famous aircraft in the world, the original Wright Flyer. For someone who has devoted their life to aviation, it was quite a present. Check out "Wilbur" at the controls and the Wright glider hanging from the ceiling of the exhibit. [Nikon D70] |

Southern Air is the successor company to the old Southern Air Transport that was based at Miami and later at the former Rickenbacker AFB in Ohio, and is now based at Norwalk, CT. PH-BUI (cn 21111/276) "Wilbur Wright", arrived very recently end of may 2003 (click on reg to see her at Schiphol, in May 2003 with and without titles, stickers, decals...). Used to be a regular 206B, but has been converted to SUD and cargo and fly for "taking things further" cargo Dept. So, first time in this state in the database. Was their second oldest in their 747 fleet (1975) before withdrawal. |
