North Korea - Air Force
Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15bis
Dayton - Wright-Patterson AFB (Wright AFB) (DWF) (closed)
USA - Ohio, August 18, 2013
Remark
Photographer
2057 (cn 2015357) This is possibly the most valuable MiG-15 ever produced, certainly from an US perspective. During the Korean War the US tried unsuccessfully to obtain a 'Fagot' for technical and evaluation puposes but this example landed at Kimpo AB, South Korea by defecting pilot No Kum-Sok. Subsequently test flown and evaluated an offer to North Korea to hand back the plane to it's 'righful owners' was rebuffed and so instead it went on display at the National Museum of the USAF at Dayton.

Remark
Photographer
2057 (cn 2015357) "National Museum of the US Air Force" The MiG-15 was the first modern fighter taking part in the Korean War for the North Korean side. The Western nations were quite astound by its performance as it could easily keep up with its Western counterparts. The exhibited "Fagot" was flown to South Korea on September 21st, 1953 by a defecting North Korean pilot. [Nikon D800 / AF-S Nikkor 16-35mm]
