USA - Air Force
Boeing KC-97L Stratofreighter (367-76-66)
Greenham Common (EGVI) (closed)
UK - England, July 7, 1973
Remark
Photographer
52-0905 / 0905 (cn 16599) Perhaps favourite of my C-97 shots, this was one of the highlights of the first Greenham show. Fortunately now preserved at Volk Field in Wisconsin - appropriate as she flew with the 128th ARW, Wi ANG, out of Milwaukee

Boeing KC-97L Stratofreighter (367-76-66)
Camp Douglas - Volk Field (AAF) (VOK / KVOK)
USA - Wisconsin, August 19, 2006
Remark
Photographer
52-0905 / 0905 (cn 16599) Before there was a KC-135, there was the KC-97, the first tanker that could do inflight refueling and carry heavy cargo. This plane was flown by the 128th Air Refueling Group, Wisconsin Air National Guard in Milwaukee and retired in 1972 when the unit converted to the KC-135 which it flies today.

Remark
Photographer
52-0905 (cn 16599) This Air Guard tanker did a display as lively as its takeoff (see my photo737206). KC-97 tankers could be seen at Greenham in the 50s and 60s when it was a U.S.A.F Strategic Air Command base.

52-0905 (cn 16599) This Wisconsin ANG KC-97L did a spirited display at Greenham73, the boom operator obviously enjoying himself on this low pass. Search Grondstein Las Palmas for treats incl KC-97L
