5A-DGK (cn 45300/101) Stripped to all metal and revealing the faded titles of its former operator, United African Airlines. The aircraft was first delivered to United as N8033U in 1960. Sold to Transports Aeriens Centraficains as TL-AHI in 1979. Became 5A-DGK with United African and later on Jamahiria Air Transport. Broken up at Luxembourg in 1985. Only the forward fuselage section survived and was put on display at Frankfurt airport. Moved to Griesheim airfield 3/06. |

5A-DGK (cn 45300/101) This fuselage was displayed on Frankfurt’s observation deck from 1985 to 2006. Seen here two weeks before the remaining part of the terrace was definitively closed on December 26, 2005. The DC-8 left Frankfurt on March 23, 2006 and is now preserved at the closed Griesheim airfield near Darmstadt where a new aviation museum is being set up. [Fuji slide] |
