Remark
Photographer
63-8057 (cn 18705) During the mid-60s this aircraft, along with two others, were assigned to Andrews AFB under the code name 'Silver Dollar' and were intended for use by the President in the event of a nuclear war. Fortunately she was never needed in this role and she has found sanctuary from the axeman at the pima Air & Space Museum.

Tucson - Davis-Monthan AFB (Municipal) (DMA / KDMA)

Remark
Photographer
63-8057 (cn 18705) The EC-135 was another version of the KC-135 and used as an airborne command post to provide command and control of the United States in case of nuclear attack. Interesting to know that for almost 30 years one of these machines was airborne at all times.
