The plane was to be retired a couple days later, but after landing in the Canaries, a vehicle hit the plane and could not return on its scheduled flight to MAD. It was ferried back to base the next day. Sad end for this great airplane. |

UPDATE: In fact this was the last revenue flight of the 742 for IBERIA, as it was hit by a vehicle at the destination airport and had to be ferried back to MAD.
