EC-JOH (cn 731) 'Miguel de Unamuno' is seen landing on rwy 33L. Exactly eleven months later this aircraft will suffer an incident, skidding off the runway at Quito, Ecuador. The airport was closed for two days and there were no fatalities. Sadly, this 15 months old beauty will be written off. [Nikon D70] |

EC-JOH (cn 731) Skid off during landing. Certainly amazing, no one was hurt, but the damage is amazing. 3 Engines ripped out, wing lost, a landing gear ripped out, front gear collapsed! Note engine 1 and 2 totaly ripped facing an other way! Just look how close it was to this house and to the wall. |
