G-ACSS (cn 1996) Full-scale replica of the winner of the 1934 England to Australia MacRobertson air-race, the famous all-wood DH-88 Comet. Sponsored by the Grosvenor House London hotel, the victors covered the 11000 miles in just under 71 hours. The original De Havilland aircraft was built here at Hatfield, so it is fitting that the town's Galleria retail centre hosts this replica.
