G-AIST / AR213/JZ-E (cn WASP/20/2) This Spitfire Mk.Ia was built by Westland plant at Yeovil, Somerset and never saw combat service. Until the end of war changed 12 MU, 57 OTU, 53 OTU and 8 MU. In 1947 was sold to civil user and registered G-AIST, in 1968 starred in movie Battle of Britain. In period 2002-07 was restored back to airworthy condition and presently wears original colours from service by 57 OTU, code JZ-E, when AR213 was a personal aircraft of F/Lt James Harry "Ginger" Lacey while he was posted as an instructor pilot for a rest period. "Ginger" Lacey was an ace with 28 confirmed victories, 4 probables and 9 damaged.
