G-AWZU (cn 2321) Arriving at Rome on one of the very few Tridents that I ever flew in. Photography at airports in Italy was not even allowed at that time. |

G-AWZU (cn 2321) In the late 1970s Heathrow was a Trident heaven and nine can be seen on this image. Also visible is a Pan Am 747 lined up on Runway 28R and to the top right, a Comet that was used as a cabin trainer by BA for many years. This view was taken from the long-closed, and much missed, Queen's Building |

G-AWZU (cn 2321) I was thinking for a while about choosing "untitled" for the airline entry, as the titles are really hardly readable ... |

G-AWZU (cn 2321) With the type being quickly replaced by the Boeing 757, there were not too many Tridents left in service when this shot was taken in late 1985 |

G-AWZU (cn 2321) Brought to STN for tug and jetway training, now conducting tarmac durability testing(!). This aircraft was scrapped in Sep-2003 with the cockpit retained and moved to Basingstoke. Interesting that when this aircraft arrived at STN, the "British" logos were not present, but they are now - perhaps the were overpainted with white paint which has eventually been weathered away? |
