G-BNLS (cn 24629/841) This Boeing 747 is operating this year's DreamFlight, as part of a tradition that was started by Patricia Pearce and Derek Pereira in 1986. A week before I shot this picture, many ill and disabled children were flown in on this plane from London's Heathrow airport to Orlando so that some joy and happiness could be brought into their lives. As their adventures continue, the plane rests on the tarmac, awaiting the return trip that would take place the next day. |

Sunrise at LAX was 06:55, sunset 16:48, solar noon 11:51:16, total daylight hours 9h 52m 51s which made it the shortest day of the year here in the northern hemisphere. This shot was taken just a mere 43 minutes before sunset as BA 278 rotates off runway 25R in rout back home to EGLL. Late afternoon light is always spectacular this time of year and low enough to illuminate everything perfectly. |
