G-OJMC (cn 456) Lined up at dawn on runway 05L, operating her last longhaul charter for TCX as Kestrel-138/9 to Goa, returning the following morning. She departed to Abu Dhabi for maintenance on 17th January 2012 and will return to the leassor on 4th March 2012. She's then off to Air Transat as C-GTSK. I flew twice on Mike-Charley to/from Cuba. I hope she has a good life in Canada and visits MAN periodically in her new livery (Canon 50D + Sigma 50-500 EX APO DG) |

G-OJMC (cn 456) This beautiful aircraft was involved in an incident 3 years ago, in October 2008 at Montego Bay. Due to an error in the takeoff performance calculations, incorrect takeoff speeds were used on departure. On rotation, the aircraft initially failed to become airborne as expected, causing the commander to select TOGA power. The aircraft then became airborne and climbed away safely. Whilst the investigation could not identify the exact source of the error, mistakes were revealed in the operator’s procedures. |
