India - Air Force
Hawker Tempest Mk2
Delhi - Indira Gandhi International (Palam) (DEL / VIDP)
India, July 31, 2011
Remark
Photographer
HA623 Preserved at the Indian Air Force Museum, Palam. Approximately 130 Tempest Mk. IIs served with the IAF from 1946-1953. The poor quality of preservation at the museum can be seen by the deflated tyres.

India - Air Force
Hawker Tempest Mk2
Delhi - Indira Gandhi International (Palam) (DEL / VIDP)
India, April 27, 2005
Remark
Photographer
HA623 Formerly the RAF's MW848 and delivered to India in 1948, this is one of 11 (or possibly 12) Tempests surviving worldwide. Sister-ship HA622 was last noted as a decoy in 1988. Looking good here but not too sure about that tailwheel! Seven Tempests were eagerly snapped up in the late 70s when auctioned off by India.
