HB-IWC (cn 48445/460) I'm missing those Swiss MD11s and that wonderful condensation effect over the wings you get at Zurich! [Fuji S1 Pro] |

HB-IWC (cn 48445/460) Swiss MD11s.....just memories now, but I will always remeber them for their departures from Runway 16 at ZRH and (as seen here) the fogging in the engines. [Fuji S1 Pro] |

HB-IWC (cn 48445/460) The weather couldn't have been worse that morning, but I still think the outcome is very interesting! |

HB-IWC (cn 48445/460) One of the last MD-11 operated by Swiss. See the front cover of engine I. It was taken from another jet, so that the Swiss-sticker is not in full-size. |

HB-IWC (cn 48445/460) The second last Swiss' flight to Hong Kong operated by MD-11. From December 14 onwards, the flight between Zurich, Hong Kong and Manila will be operated by A340 instead. Swissair/Swiss has sent MD-11 to Hong Kong for over 10 years. Growing up in Hong Kong, I am really sad to see LX's MD-11 go, as I always regard MD-11 as a symbol of Swissair/Swiss International Airlines. My first photo on airliners.net, with ID:228543, also features a Swiss' MD-11 on final approach. Bye bye, Swiss' MD-11! |
