N1005C (cn 4557) Since my last visit to the AMC Museum on 17 June 2007, the fuselage has been painted gray and cheat lines have been added. Transformation into a "quasi" C-121C should be complete in August. |

N1005C (cn 4557) Leased from Seaboard and Western for just over two years. Aerlinte Eirann were a subsidiary of Aer Lingus, to operate trans-atlantic schedule flights from Ireland to New York. This aircraft operated the last scheduled "Prop" service from New York to Ireland December 21/22, 1960 - the Boeing 720 jet had arrived. These airline titles were only used for a short time, and were replaced by "Irish Air Lines" in 1959 and "Irish International Airlines" in 1960. |

N1005C (cn 4557) This airplane sat atop a restaurant in Pennsylvania for almost thirty years after retirement from Capitol International Airways. There's plenty of peeling paint to be removed by museum volunteers before the real restoratation job begins. |

N1005C (cn 4557) Engines and landing gear were salvaged from NC-121K 141292, which was scrapped at Florence, SC in 1999 after being damaged by a brush fire. The engine nacelles show graphic evidence of that fire. |
