N199AB (cn 45164) This was the last flying Cargomaster (operating under experimental certificate only). Of 50 aircraft built, nine were lost in crashes and one was destroyed in a ground fire. Despite numerous myths and legends, the primary causes of most of the in-flight losses were most likely related to the C-133's stall characteristics. |

N199AB (cn 45164) Aircraft delivered to USAF as 56-1999 in December 1957. For the past 30 years this aircraft has been flying in Alaska hauling outsized cargo. Shown a few minutes after landing at Travis AFB on the final flight of the C-133 type aircraft. It will be put on display at the Travis Air Museum. |

N199AB (cn 45164) Ex- USAF 56-1999. The last airworthy Cargomaster flying for the last time. After retiring from the military in 1971, she flew in the State of Alaska for Cargomaster Corp. Here we see 199AB arriving at Travis from her ferry flight from Anchorage, via McChord AFB. |

N199AB (cn 45164) My first sighting of the mighty C-133 Cargomaster, and an airworthy one at that! Fingers crossed that next government contract (the only means by which she's allowed to fly) is somewhere around the corner! Edit: It flew from Alaska to Washington on 8-29, and then to Travis AFB (California) on 8-30-2008. It's in the air again! |

N199AB (cn 45164) Amazingly this aircraft was still flying as recently as 2004, and as such it is now the only airworthy Cargomaster in the world. It made several flights in the summer of 2004 to carry large loads to remote locations in Alaska. However, due to strict FAA restrictions it is only allowed to do work for the Alaska State government. Ex HI-246 and USAF 56-1999. |
