N4692A / 48 (cn 726-7247) 'Tanker 48' built in 1961 and operated by Minden Air Corp. Picture is dedicated to the brave Californian firefighter, who offered me a nice ramp tour on this warm and sunny day, thanks and very much appreciated.

Minden - Minden-Tahoe (MEV / KMEV)
USA - Nevada, April 25, 2004
Remark
Photographer
N4692A / 48 (cn 726-7247) Minden-Tahoe Aviation's immaculate Neptune firebomber, "Tanker 48," basks in the sun at its home base, surrounded by authentic maintenance clutter-this aircraft works for its living, or at least it did until the USFS decided this year not to renew its contract.

Remark
Photographer
N4692A / 48 (cn 726-7247) Just departed Hill AFB to make a drop on a forest fire south of Salt Lake City. There were several aircraft at Hill that made runs during the day. They were almost impossible to catch as they came and went unannounced and in all directions. Sufferring from a drought for several years now the Salt Lake valley is very dry as you can see by the mountainside in the background.
