N767UW (cn 1382) Nice view of three skylines, Brooklyn, and Lower Manhattan, New York City plus Jersey City, New Jersey. The Hudson is above, with the East River below, both busy with water traffic as it is 0845 on a Friday morning. The two bridges are the Brooklyn left, and Manhattan right, and the South Street Seaport is just to the left of the bridges. Nothing beats the "Great Approaches" into my home airport of LaGuardia, this one is to runway 31 ! |

N767UW (cn 1382) We'd moved to take departure shots when I heard this USAir flight declare an emergency with one engine out. We quickly repositioned and watched her make a flawless landing. Heat haze killed all the distance shots with the emergency trucks following. She sat there for a day and a half before being ferried back to CLT. |
