N96SW (cn 23055/970) Note the black exhaust residue on the side of the fuselage... Most all 737-200s (unless washed often) have this black area behind the wings due to the "clam shell" thrust-reversers aiming the exhaust upward. Aircraft was flown to Opa-Locka, Florida on 2-23-05 and is now in service somewhere in South America. (Canon 300D / 28-135mm IS) |

N96SW (cn 23055/970) "The Fred J. Jones". The only time I've ever seen her. First flight was May 26, 1983. Delivery date was June 30, 1983. Other serials - YV162T with Rutaca Airlines / Rutas Aereas - delivered during March 2006, N96SW with Newjet Corporation and First Security Bank of Utah, and also YV1360 with Avior Airlines. Sadly, W/O October 16, 2008 at CCS with Rutaca Rutas Aereas as YV162T routing PZO-CCS. After touching down, aircraft swerved to left off runway. Nose came to rest on runway wall - 0 fatalities. |

N96SW (cn 23055/970) Watching N95SW perform a fly-by over Love Field at dawn and taxi up to her own party was, in a way, sad....And then I spent some time taking photos of N96SW sitting alone on the wash rack with "Southwest" - which had been proudly displayed for decades - covered up for good. This was well worth standing there and thinking about the amazing history that these old 732s have had. I'm sure they will be missed by everyone...well, accept maybe the EPA... N96SW (cn 23055/970) "Fred J Jones" seems to be Southwest's only 737 classic to get new digs, and I guess even it won't be around long. [Canon 300D, 100-400L IS] |

N96SW (cn 23055/970) Right after being towed into Hangar 'D'. You can actually see the chocks being kicked into place. This will be the last 1/4D check performed on a -200 by DAL MX. Great job of towing by my buddy Eric. |
