PA474 was built by V-A at Chester in 1945 and here wears the codes of 44 Squadon, Bomber Command. She is accompanied by Hurricane IIc LF363 'LE-D' and Spitfire IIa P7350 'UO-T'. |

PA474 / BQ-B Lancaster PA474 of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight wears marking of WW2 Mk.III serial EE139 „Phantom of the Ruhr“ since winter 2006/07. The code letters HR-W on the port side symbolize „Phantoms“ service with No 100 Squadron from RAF Waltham (30 operations, Dec/1942-Nov/1943) and on the starboard side wears letters BQ-B glamorize service by No 550 Squadron from RAF North Killingholme (91 operations, Nov/1943-Nov/1944). Authentic famous Lancaster was regrettably in 1946 scrapped. PA474 was in 1975 adopted by City of Lincoln, therefore sign on the nose. |
