TF-SIF (cn 660) The successor to IGC's Fokker F27, TF-SYN, which has served the country for all its 32 years arrived in Iceland today. Two of IGC's helicopters joined in during the last part of the flight and together they made a fly-pass over runway 19 in front of IGC's hangar where the arrival ceremony took place after landing. Installation of maritime surveillance equipment and other modifications were performed by Field Aviation in Canada. Seen here after the ceremony being towed into its hangar for the first time. |

TF-SIF (cn 10386) TF-SIF was specially modified for the surveilance mission with two extra observation windows cut in the left side of the fuselage behind the cockpit and a search radar fitted in a pod under the forward fuselage. It later aldo got a searchlight from a P-5 Marlin under the left wing. These modification were strictly local and not done with the cooperation of the manufacurer, so when it came to selling it after use that created problems. Other registrations were: 42-72281, N30059, CR-IAF and CS-TDJ. |
