The grass has now grown up into the undercarriage bays and the tree behind has grown into the tailplane. The southern side of the fusalage is now green with moss. Finally Craig and me went to The Oaks and I got plenty of K64 slides of it ... what a little beauty ! The Oaks airfield only has a grass landing strip and no other planes were present .... I do wonder how it got there ..... and the next time we'll take along a lawnmower and cut the grass in front of the gear .... and maybe we should give it a good wash, too ! Probably the only aircraft that wears this old QF livery anywhere in the world, definitely one I'd like to see flying again that's for sure. This aircraft was aquired by Qantas in 1965 and was fitted with a specially modified flight deck to represent a Boeing 707 aircraft for crew training purposes.
