Untitled (Qantas)
Boeing 747-438
Victorville - Southern California Logistics (International) (George AFB) (VCV)
USA - California, January 8, 2011
Remark
Photographer
VH-OJK (cn 25067/857) Old and New come together in the same frame. In the foreground the Qantas 747 'Newcastle' was first flown in 1991. She suffered an explosive decompression in 2008, but was repaired and returned to service. She was retired at the end of 2009 after only 18 years of service. Above her in the background a new airliner is testing for certification. The 787 first flew at the end of 2009, and will hopefully have a long and successful career. I wonder when we will see the 787 suffer the same fate as this 747?
