While serving with 101 Squadron, this aircraft performed Shrike missile attacks ("Black Buck") on Argentine military defences during the Falklands War. During one such raid, the refuelling probe broke while refuelling from a Victor tanker causing an enforced diversion to Galeao Airport at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
